A commercial gas warm air installation and full factory heating conversion for a woollen mill with roots dating back to 1837. Abraham Moon’s mill in Guiseley — one of the few vertical wool mills still operating in Britain, doing everything from raw fleece to finished fabric on one site — was running on an old, inefficient steam-heated system when Del Sol was called in just before Christmas 2022.
Del Sol surveyed the full building, consulted with the mill’s engineers, production staff and shift managers, and proposed replacing the steam heaters with a modern warm air system and computer-controlled energy management — a complete commercial heating overhaul. The project ran from a full site survey and scoping phase, through a six-week mill-wide pipework overhaul, to installing new heaters, ducting and heat recovery units, finishing with controls and gas connection — all without disrupting day-to-day production. The system was fully operational by 14 August 2023.
