Our Story

Del Sol was established in 1968 and has grown, over more than 55 years, into a trusted commercial heating services provider and plumbing contractor for the North of England. What started as a heating specialist has grown alongside the industry — today we design, install, service and maintain everything from traditional boiler systems to air conditioning, evaporative cooling and sustainable heat pump technology, so clients can come to us at every stage of a building’s life, not just at installation.

Commercial heating and plumbing has been at the heart of our business for over five decades — several of our senior managers started out as apprentices themselves, and between them have worked on everything from a dripping tap to complex commercial heating and plumbing installations for major national businesses.

We’re independent and family-run in spirit — proud to train and retain our own apprentices rather than relying on short-term contractors, which means the engineer who surveys your site is backed by a business that plans for the long term. We’re also one of only a few local firms installing and servicing evaporative coolers, a specialism that sets us apart from many general heating and cooling contractors in the area.

Our Team & Accreditations

Every commercial gas engineer on our team is fully trained and accredited — Gas Safe, OFTEC and REFCOM F-Gas registered — so you always have a qualified specialist on hand, whether that’s a Gas Safe engineer or an OFTEC engineer, backed by a dedicated contracts manager for larger installation projects. We’re CQMS accredited, giving commercial and facilities management clients the compliance assurance they need before they even pick up the phone.
